Women's Enterprise Networking Event, Kinross Area

The Women's Enterprise Network is designed to support women starting, running or growing a business in rural Perthshire and Kinross or even for those who are thinking about it. It's a free event and will start with a light buffet, followed by an informal chance to meet other like-minded women and some of the GrowBiz team.

At our February meeting, our speaker is Wendy Crawford.

Wendy Crawford’s over 3-decade long career is the perfect illustration of one of her core beliefs: your professional life should evolve over time alongside your ever-changing personal life. And with a CV highlighting work in Belgium carrying out cancer research, consulting on information technology with such establishments as the Imperial War Museum in London and running a livestock farm in rural Fife, it is clear to see how Wendy applies this principle to keep her career developing along with her continuously evolving lifestyle.

So in 2004, after returning home to a small village in Fife with her two sons it was only natural that Wendy would begin to conceptualize a new project for her career. After marrying her husband and taking on a management role in the family farm, Wendy’s attention was drawn to the apparent demand for high quality ladies tailoring in the agricultural community and she set her sights on acquiring the skills and resources needed to meet such a demand. This brought about House of Bluebell, the ladies tailoring company founded by Wendy which over the years since its launch in 2016 has also emulated the key principles of Wendy’s professional life by growing into the company it is today by carefully evolving along with the needs of its target market.
