Are you in the food and drink industry? Then come along to a workshop where you’ll learn how to be more sustainable and increase profits at the same time (includes networking/refreshments). The cost of food waste from the Scottish hospitality and food service sector is estimated at over £215 million per year and around two-thirds of it is avoidable. Food waste not only translates into lost profits but also into carbon emissions that contribute to climate change. Zero Waste Scotland, in partnership with Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, is running two pilot workshops, with slightly different formats, to help you to understand how to build a more sustainable business.
Our second workshop which will take place at a local food and drink business or innovator and will include a half hour of demo or tour of the venue, hopefully inspiring you in your own business. Discover the impact food waste is having on your business and the environment, and what to do about it. This workshop will focus on reducing food waste, saving you money on raw ingredients, time, energy and waste management costs. Case studies will be shared from local food and drink businesses who have benefited from reducing their food waste. And we’ll be linking in to the Circular Economy and what support might be available for you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE SECOND OF TWO WORKSHOPS, BOTH WORKSHOPS WILL FOLLOW THE SAME FORMAT THEREFORE, TO AVOID DUPLICATION, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ONLY BOOK ONTO ONE WORKSHOP.
